SIX Season 2 Air Date Set for 2018 by History Channel: Criticized for being too graphic, raw and sexually explicit, the show will have a chance to redeem itself

Storyline and plot

On January 18th, 2017, a new action war show called SIX premiered on the History channel. Behind this new series are the production companies A+E Studios and The Weinstein Company and the executive producers are well-known names such as William Broyles Jr. (Cast Away, Planet of the Apes), who also wrote the show, Karen Campbell (Dexter) and Leslie Linka Glatter (Homeland, The Walking Dead, Nashville), who also directs the show together with Michael Salomon amongst others.

SIX is a show about Navy SEALS as they go about their daily lives, while they are trying to eliminate a Taliban leader. As they find out that Americans have been working with the terrorists things go downhill faster than anyone could imagine. One of the main characters in this war drama is Walter Goggins as Rip Taggart, who so far has been seen in the strangest roles – for example Venus van Damme in Sons of Anarchy – and in SIX he now plays the leader of a SEALS team, who are trying to protect an African village from a local villain. Other leading roles are played by Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba, Edwin Hodge, Brianne Davis and Nadine Velazquez to name but a few.

Reviews and possible renewal

SIX hasn’t exactly broken any records, when it comes to viewer ratings since it first aired. With an average of just under 3 Million viewers per episode and a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic it very much was down to the producers to decide whether they thought this show was worth another season or not. History has officially ordered another set of ten episodes for a second season, which was just confirmed back in February. The production is slated to start some time in the summer for SIX season 2.
